The Roman Catholic Church at Crediton is the National Shrine to St Boniface. It was built in 1969. Boniface was born Winfrith at Crediton in the year 680.
This website is devoted to all aspects of the life of St Boniface (Bonifatius) and to the communities of Crediton where he is acknowledged as Crediton's most famous son. St Boniface is the Apostle of Germany and Patron Saint of Holland (The Netherlands), and regarded by one contemporary author as The Greatest Englishman. The main purpose of this site is to provide links to pages and other sites where information for visitors to Crediton, and researchers, can be found. It is totally independent of Catholic Church hierarchy.
